Pictures: Missouri Grand Prix – Day 3 Prelims
Michael Phelps and his coach Bob Bowman participated in a media teleconference call to recap the Missouri Grand Prix and talking about Michael’s training progress heading into next month’s World Championships.
The men’s 1500 Free was the final individual of the meet and was won by Mission Viejo’s Chad LaTourette in 15:27.81. Claiming second place was Ricardo Monasterio, touching in 15:31.56. Swim Star Erik Vendt posted a 15:33.06 time to claim the bronze medal.
Katie Hoff turned in a 2:11.42 swim to easily win the women’s 200 IM. She then took the next 30 minutes to sign autographs for fans in the stands. Fellow World Championships team member, Ariana Kukors was second after her 2:17.08 swim. Gator Swim Club’s Vipa Bernhardt was the event’s third place finisher (2:19.31).
