North Baltimore’s Dan Madwed earned the top seed in the men’s 200 Fly final, making it to the wall in 2:00.05. Doug Lennox notched the second seed in 2:00.45 and Brazil’s Kaio Almeida 3rd in 2:00.87. Swim Star Davis Tarwater did not swim the event.

The North Baltimore duo of Katie Hoff and Courtney Kalisz claimed the top 2 seeds for the 200 Fly finals with times of 2:11.91 and 2:12.94 from each. Club Wolverine’s Kaitlin Sandeno qualified 3rd in 2:14.86. Kathleen Hersey (2:15.58), Teresa Crippen (2:15.70), and Alicia Aemisegger (2:16.48) also advanced. Felicia Lee posted a 2:16.94 swim and just missed out on a spot in the ‘A’ final.

Auburn’s Cesar Cielo clocked an impressive 48.64 in the 100 Free to lead all qualifiers. Cielo is joined in the ‘A’ final by teammates Alexei Puninski (49.94) and Fred Bousquet (50.34) who qualified 2nd and 4th, respectively. Club Wolverine will have 2 swimmers in the Championship final, led by Michael Phelps‘ 50.0 (3rd). Peter Vanderkaay qualified 5th with a 50.52 swim.

Swimming in the final heat of the women’s 100 Free prelims, Katie Hoff’s 55.34 earned her the top seed for tonight’s Championship final. The Bolles School’s Ariann Vanderpool-Wallace advanced next with her 56.42 finish. Northwestern’s Andrea Human rounded out the top 3 qualifiers in 56.67. After a 58.87 race, Megan Romano also moved on. She will race in the ‘C’ final.

Florida’s Roland Rudolf claimed the top seed for the men’s 200 Back final after his 2:00.02 swim. Longhorn Aaron Peirsol posted the next qualifying time of 2:01.25 followed by his teammate Dave Cromwell (2:02.55). Club Wolverine’s Erik Vendt will also race in the ‘A’ final after a 2:03.86 effort.

Brazil’s Henrique Barbosa swept the breaststroke events with another win in a time of 1:02.32. John Criste took home the silver in a time of 1:02.71 while Damar Dugonjic took the bronze with 1:02.81.

Stanford’s Tara Kirk swam a time of 1:07.33 to claim the championship title. Megan Jendrick touched the wall next with 1:08.18. Trojan Swim Club’s Keri Hehn closed out the top three with 1:08.89

Natalie Couglin clocked a time of 2:10.88 to claim the championship title. Her time was .8 off the American Record. King Aquatics’ Ariana Kukors took home the silver with 2:13.71. Julia Smit took the bronze with time of 2:13.99.
