Olympic Trials - Women’s 400 Free Prelims

Katie Hoff registered a new Olympic Trials meet record in the 400 free with a blistering 4:05.61 effort. Swimming in the final heat, Club Wolverine’s Allison Schmitt jumped out to an early lead, but Katie challenged late and won the heat. Allison shaved 5 seconds off her best time with a 4:05.72.

In the previous heat, Kate Ziegler posted a swift time of her own in 4:06.04. The next finals-qualifying time belonged to Caroline Burckle in 4:06.74.

The remainder of the finals field will include Alyssa Anderson, Kelsey Ditto, Maggie Bird, and Jessica Rodriquez.
