Olympic Trials - Women’s 200 Free Prelims

Allison Schmitt posted the first 1:58 effort in heat 12, touching in 1:58.76. Then in the final heat American Record holder Katie Hoff went 1:57.72 to earn the top semi seed.

Caroline Burckle registered a solid 1:59.09 to qualify 3rd, followed by Julia Smit’s 1:59.18. Christine Marshall, Kara Lynn Joyce, Kim Vandenberg, and Erin Reilly posted top 8 times to continue on to this evening’s semifinal heats.

In earlier heats, Megan Romano finished in 2:01.91 and Kaitlin Sandeno 2:01.66.
