Olympic Trials - Men’s 1500 Free Prelims

Peter Vanderkaay was the first swimmer to hit the wall in the 1st seeded heat of the men’s 1500 Free prelims. He looked extremely smooth, jumping out to an immediate lead and finished in 15:06.24. Kyle Young hit second in 15:20.99.

Larsen Jensen’s 15:11.99 in the second seeded heat was more than enough to take first. Tom Koucheravy followed with 15:16.68 for second.

Erik Vendt swam a very fast but controlled 1500 Free prelim and earned the top seed for tomorrow’s final with a 14:50.24; a new Olympic Trials meet record. Chad La Tourette 15:02.78.

Robert Margalis’ 15:21.05 and Joe Kinderwater’s 15:22.45 also earned them a shot at an Olympic berth in tomorrow’s 1500 Free final.
