Top seed Brian Johns lived up to expectations winning the men’s 200 IM in 2:01.25. Jack Brown was the second place finisher with a 2:02.37 swim. Stephen Parkes took the final medal, stopping the clock at 2:03.90.

Ariana Kukors destroyed the meet record with a blistering 2:10.88 200 IM performance. Julia Smit secured another medal in 2:12.36 and World Record holder Stephanie Rice rounded out the top 3 with a 2:12.84 effort. All 3 medalists finished well below the previous meet record.

Dagny Knutson made it to the wall in 2:15.01 to qualify first for the women’s 200 IM final. New Zealand’s Natalie Wiegersma touched in 2:15.93 to qualify next, with Julia Smit (2:16.37), Stephanie Rice (2:17.05), Ariana Kukors (2:17.06) also moving on to push for the title this evening.

Brian Johns hit the wall in 2:03.49 to take the top seed for tonight’s finals of the men’s 200 IM. He will be challenged by Australia’s Stephen Parkes (2:04.07) and Thomas Fraser-Holmes (2:04.30), as well as Jack Brown, who finished in 2:04.39 and Martti Aljand, who posted a 2:05.14.

Ryan Lochte scratched the event.
