Cal’s Dana Vollmer turned in the fastest time of the women’s 100 Free A flight, with a 54.48 effort. Ariana Kukors owns the next time of 55.59, followed by Amanda Weir’s 55.69. Katie Hoff’s 56.50 was the 11th fastest. If it holds through the B flight, her time would qualify for the ‘B’ final.

NOTE: The Santa Clara International 2009 edition is underway from Santa Clara, CA. The meet is being run in flights (A & A), with the fastest seeded swimmer racing in the A flight, which only has one more event to contest. These updates will cover the A flight as it is widely assumed the top finishers from these heats will comprise the majority of the timed finals heats.
