Santa Clara 2009 – Men’s 100 Back Final
Ryan Lochte took the first 50 out hard and pushed through to the finish to win, and hold off Michael Phelps 54.15 to 54.31. Australia’s Ashley Delaney also challenged for the win, making it to the wall in 54.41. Swimming from Lane 5, Matt Grevers just missed the podium with a 54.96 swim.

Santa Clara 2009 – Men’s 100 Free Final
Brent Hayden fought off a late charge from Michael Phelps (48.87) to win the men’s 100 Free in 48.49. Nathan Adrian’s 48.94, the last sub-49 swim, was good enough for the bronze. Ryan Lochte (49.18) and Matt Grevers (49.58) went 4-5.

Santa Clara 2009 – Men’s 100 Back Prelims
Matt Grevers leads all qualifiers into the final of the men’s 100 Back with a 55.15 prelim time. David Russell’s 55.43 earned him the 2nd seed while Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte both put up 55.46 swims to advance to finals as the join #3 seed. Should be the most intriguing race of the night.

Santa Clara 2009 – Men’s 100 Free Prelims
The top qualifying times of the men’s 100 Free prelims were extremely close with Canada’s Brent Hayden edging the field with a 49.39 performance. Nathan Adrian’s 49.85 was the next qualifier and only the second sub-50 time. Ryan Lochte clocked a 50.00 for the 3rd seed, slightly ahead of Adam Brown’s 50.01. Michael Phelps (50.07) and Matt Grevers (50.09) will also race in the championship final tonight.

Santa Clara 2009 – 800 Free Relays
Team Australia set a new meet record in winning the women’s 800 Free Relay in 8:02.49. Cal kept it close, but finished second in 8:02.69. Tuscon Ford’s 8:07.36 earned them the bronze, to cap off a very closely contested heat.
The Australian ‘A’ team made it an Aussie sweep this evening, winning the men’s 800 Free relay in 7:15.88 with a meet record of their own. Their ‘B’ squad finished second in 7:22.56. Matt Grevers and his Tuscon Ford teammates took 3rd with a combined 7:24.80 effort.

Santa Clara 2009 – Men’s 50 Free Final
Nathan Adrian established a new meet record in the men’s 50 Free with a 22.04 sprint. George Bovell, who entered as the top seed, finished second in 22.12, just ahead of Brent Hayden’s 22.20. Matt Grevers just missed the medals, placing 4th in 22.51.
